What is a Death Doula?

End-of-Life Doulas, or Death Doulas, are non-medical professionals of extraordinary compassion and kindness who are trained to bring healing vs. curative care to individuals and their loved ones during critical illness and the dying process.

We tend to the healing of the emotional, spiritual and relational aspect of individuals and their loved ones as death draws nearer, and help neutralize fear by providing education regarding the process of death and dying.

By focusing on the complete individual, not just the  medical diagnosis, we provide comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to your/your loved one’s unique needs.

I am trained to facilitate challenging, emotionally charged conversations with clients and loved ones regarding end of life issues, and help support caregivers, family and friends through the process of emotional completion and saying goodbye.

As a Death Doula, there are many ways of “doing” to help support the dying individual and their loved ones. Often times though, more important is how a Doula is “being” that creates the comfort care that families are craving during their most vulnerable weeks, days and hours. As your Death Doula, my priority is to learn how to best serve you and your loved ones, be a healing presence at the bedside, and help you navigate the intense emotions and experiences that accompany this final challenge of life.

Death Doulas offer the chance to redefine the way individuals and their loved ones navigate the process of death, leaving a lasting, positive impact for future generations.
